Bird Dawg Self-Storage Facility

Client: Bird Dawg Development

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided plans for a new self-storage facility at the intersection of Gaston Day School Rd. and Hoffman Rd. in Gastonia. The plans for the new 34,000 sf, two-story facility included new utility services, stormwater quality and detention basins, and a small parking lot. A public water line exension was also required to provide water service to the site .

Smart Kids Daycare

Client: C.L. Helt Architect, Inc.

Site plans provided by Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. for a new building on the current site included a significant extension to the existing parking lot as well as new storm drainage. Design plans addressed construction phasing as certain parts of the site had to remain accessible for use while construction of the new building and parking lot were completed. Topography of the area being developed required extensive walls to overcome.

Waffle House

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided design services for new Waffle House locations in Gastonia, Cramerton, southwest Charlotte, east Charlotte and Fort Mill.  The sites were each carefully designed to meet Waffle House specifications.  Construction administration services were also provided for the Fort Mill site (as seen to the right) where regular site visits were required to satisfy requirements of the stormwater permit.  The Cramerton Waffle House included a public sanitary sewer line extension to serve the site.

Save-a-Lot Grocery Store

Client: Supervalu, Inc.

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided surveying and design for a new 43 spaces parking lot to serve an existing 12,000 SF building being converted to a Save-a-Lot grocery store in Gastonia, NC. The design included the rehabilitation of two driveway entrances as well as required landscaping and sidewalks to meet City of Gastonia requirements.

Cherryville H.S. Parking Lot

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided design surveying, design plans, and bidding services for a new 85 space parking lot with sidewalk, dual driveway entrances and associated storm drainage improvements across the street from Cherryville High School. The project included erosion control necessary to satisfy NCDENR requirements and landscaping to satisfy Cherryville zoning regulations.

 

Bojangles’ Restaurant (Shelby, NC)

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided design surveying and design plans for a new Bojangles’ in Shelby, NC. The project included a 3,700 SF building with 44 parking spaces on a one acre site. The site also included water and irrigation services, sanitary sewer service and a storm drainage system. Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. worked closely with the client to ensure conformity to their standards was achieved.

Belmont Federal Savings & Loan

Belmont Federal

Sitework for the new 5,000 SF Belmont Federal building included a 37-space parking lot with sidewalks, landscaping and a limited amount of pervious paving to meet requirements of the City of Belmont.  The plans also included demolition of various utilities abandoned after the demolition of previous buildings on the site. Landscaping was included on the plans to meet the Belmont zoning ordinance. Unique stormwater elements were included in the design to mitigate the downstream effects of the concentration of stormwater runoff as a result of the new parking lot.

Rutherford Electric (Lincolnton Office)

Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. provided the site design for a new 3,200 SF office for R.E.M.C. in Lincolnton. The site included 35 total parking spaces, a separate secured parking area for employees, and a 50,000 SF gravelled emergency vehicle staging area. Erosion control measures were also provided to meet state standards. The driveway entrances were carefully designed to meet NCDOT concerns and to avoid conflict with vital water lines within the right of way.
